Sociograss hosts a regular open jam session at the Bowlers Rest pub in Leith, weekly.
Come on down and join us on a Sunday afternoon between 17.00 and 20.00!
All are welcome and folks are encouraged to bring along a musical instrument and join in with the music.
We play mostly bluegrass, oldtime, early country and American roots music at the jam, but the policy is that of inclusivity and we are happy to play anything that sounds good!
The bar has a load of great beers with a regular rotation of guest ales, pool table, darts, and Cecelley the wonderful proprietor cooks up a bangin' brisket!
Sunday funday!
Sociograss has begun hosting a new weekly Wednesday session at the Leith Community Croft from 6pm to 9pm.
The Leith Community Croft (Earth in Common) is a wonderful community based non-profit that works hard to democratise public land use and has turned this corner of Leith into one ofthe most vibrant of the city - they very much deserve to be supported!
Come on down and join us on Wednesday midweek for another session where all levels and abilities are accomodated. Broadly sticking to American roots music as the music policy but really... anything goes.
In Winter we've been using the indoor space but as the springtime draws near we will soon be moving the session outside to sit around the bonfire. dress warmly! Food and booze available at the croft too!
Brand new and excellent wee bud the Fort (previously "The Village") has now opened with Sociograss hosting a session there on the First Thursday of each month from 7pm to 9pm.
The pub has an excellent selection of fine local booze, a pool table and the best bluegrass band this side of the water of Leith ;-)
Come on down and join us for a tune!
